Overall Thoughts:
The Asus PG279Q is a fantastic gaming monitor with amazing specs. I bought this monitor on sale for $699 and it usually retails for $799 so it was a great deal. The monitors refresh rate can go up to 165hz when overclocked. It has 4ms response time, g-sync technology which helps with eliminating screen tearing while gaming, and lastly its an IPS monitor. IPS monitors have great color accuracy where the colors will stay consistent from any angle. IPS monitors also have great color reproduction and the colors in videos, pictures, and gaming look fantastic. The monitor has speakers but they are not that great and kinda weak in my opinion. The only downside of this monitor is you might experience backlight bleeding. Its not a huge deal because you can go to your retailer, or if you bought it directly from Asus, and swap it out and hopefully get one that has the least amount of backlight bleeding.
For $699, it would be nice to just get a great monitor and not have to worry about possibly having to go swap it out over and over. The performance of this monitor is terrific and gaming with 144hz-165hz is awesome and the games are really smooth which creates an amazing gaming experience. Also, the monitor has the RGB lighting effects on the stand which is really cool because not many monitors have that feature. With all of that being said, I personally do recommend this monitor. Its one of the many few gaming monitors that not only does it have an IPS panel, but it also has 165hz refresh rate, 4ms response time, and the g-sync technology. Overall this is a fantastic gaming monitor with lots of features and high end specs and gaming on this monitor is absolutely incredible!
