The BenQ EX3501R is a fantastic ultrawide gaming monitor with not only great features and high end specs but also for a reasonable price of $665 dollars! It has a 35inch curved screen with a VA panel and a resolution of 3440x1440, an aspect ratio of 21.9 with a refresh rate of 60hz which can be overclocked to 100hz, 4ms response time, and it also has the AMD Freesync technology which helps eliminate screen tearing for a faster and smoother gamelplay and lastly it also has the HDR technology which is bonus feature. Right now, there are so many ultrawide gaming monitors on the market and it can be a little challenging deciding which one to get. The BenQ EX3501R is very impressive with high end specs and has areas where it really shines, but is it worth $665 dollars and should you buy it or should you invest your money in another gaming monitor? Let’s find out.
Now the BenQ EX3501R has a VA panel it's basically a really nice improvement from a TN panel but still not as good as an IPS panel. An IPS panel produces the best color accuracy and color reproduction, and colors stay consistent from all angles and it doesn’t produce a yellowish tint. Now the resolution and the VA panel are not really a huge factor when it comes to gaming especially if you play fast person shooter games. The only time you might notice a difference is if you play games such as Assassins Creed or Tomb Raider because those games have a lot of nature scenes such as waterfalls, flowers and trees etc. Now if you’re not super picky on the resolution because you don’t really look out for things like that, then this might not be an issue.
Overall, the BenQ EX3501R is a fantastic ultrawide gaming monitor when you take into consideration of everything you are getting for the price. The price to performance is the most impressive part because for $665 dollars, you are getting a 35inch curved monitor, with a VA panel, a resolution of 3440x1440 with an aspect ratio of 21:9, 60hz refresh rate which can be overclocked to 100hz, 4ms response time, the AMD Freesync technology which help eliminate screen tearing for a faster and smoother gameplay, and also the HDR technology which is a really nice bonus feature. If you are looking for an ultrawide gaming monitor, and you want to maintain quality and also get some impressive high end specs but not spend too much money, then I think the BenQ EX3501R is a fantastic option to consider.
